Granola Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 5 baking apples or golden delicious, (about 2 lbs./1 kg), peeled, cored and thinly
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) light brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup (150 mL) all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp. (7 mL) ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Imperial® margarine
  • 1 cup (250 mL) granola cereal
  • 4 cups (1 L) your favourite Breyers® Creamery Style™ Ice Cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Spray (2-L) casserole with non-stick cooking spray; set aside.
  2. Combine apples, 50 mL brown sugar, 30 mL flour, lemon juice and 5 mL cinnamon in large bowl. Turn into prepared casserole; set aside.
  3. Combine remaining flour, 50 mL brown sugar and 2 mL cinnamon in food processor. Add margarine and granola and pulse just until combined; sprinkle over apples.
  4. Bake 55 minutes or until golden and bubbling. Let stand 20 minutes before serving. Serve with Breyers® Creamery Style™ Ice Cream.

TIP: Reduce prep time and increase fiber by leaving apples unpeeled.
